The Easter Egg Hunt can be as easy or as difficult as you choose. Easy egg hunts are more suitable for young children where eggs can be easily found. More difficult egg hunts which can include clues might be more suitable for older children leading to hiding places and might keep them occupied for longer! The eggs can be hidden indoors or outdoors, this really depends on your weather. The outdoors Easter Egg Hunt is more fun I think but not very practical here in Ireland if the eggs have to be hidden the night before in time for those keen early-riser egg hunters!
The Easter Bunny hides our eggs indoors and also places the eggs inside plastic egg shells, this keeps the eggs clean is they are not wrapped and makes them easier to find.
Make sure you buy your eggs well in advance of Easter Sunday, I find that the selection of eggs dwindles rapidly during the few days just before Easter.
Each child also needs their own Easter Basket to collect their eggs.
It’s a good idea to know who many eggs have been hidden and keep a count as the children find them. This way you’ll know when all the eggs have been found and the egg hunt is over.
When the egg hunt is over the best part begins – eating the chocolate egg treasures!
